Back to school schedules can cause all kinds of conflicts!
Get your team organized with a mapped out plan for each day. This year I absolutely have to get a personal organizer. Something I can carry with me that has everyone's schedule right in front of me.
No more " I will have to get back with you" or Let me see what everyone has going on" excuses! Well, they can still be used as excuses when necessary....(persistent parents who must be handled delicately)....This school year with football season right at hand I will have everything in one place!
You can get these organizers everywhere. Walmart, Target, Staples, Kmart, online....endless! The best investment you will ever make. Last year I had a wall calender that you could use dry erase markers to update and everyone had a section to enter upcoming events, appointments...etc.
These organizers have everything from day to day calendar, to pockets, pen holder, memo pad, and lots of storage for receipts and such. Make it easy on yourself this school year...go get an organizer...run! Pencil in everything before you are overwhelmed with practices, fall parties, games, and dont forget the 20 birthday parties you will be attending this year!!!
Good luck to all....Here's to a successful and more organized school year!!!

Cool off with frosty tablescapes!

Set yourself apart with these fabulous entertaining ideas!
Start by researching some of the latest trends in tablscapes. Tablescapes meaning...the way you are decorating tables especially ones containing food and beverages for your guests.
I love to decorate anyway but mixing these concepts around serving areas is so much fun! Also, your guests will enjoy themselves taking in the mood you have created for them to enjoy. Scents, lighting, and sound all play an intricate part of this mood.
In the summer especially I love to add an element with ice. Whether it be a large glass jar with lemonade filled with lemon slices and ice or something a little more tricky like the frozen Vodka bottle with fruit slices and flowers ( as shown above), Summer heat can be balanced and enjoyed with a little chill introduced into the mix!
As seen on www.Marthastewart.com
A bottle of icy vodka makes a dramatic bar decoration when it's encased in a frozen layer of colorful flowers and fruit.
Place a full bottle into a fully opened cardboard half-gallon milk carton. Insert flowers or thinly sliced fruit (we've used nasturtiums, lemons, and limes) around the bottle, filling one third of the carton. Pour water into the container, just covering the fruit and flowers. Place the carton upright in the freezer. When the liquid is completely frozen, add another layer of fruit and very cold water, and freeze. Repeat, filling and freezing a third of the carton at a time, which prevents all the fruit and flowers from floating to the top until the water reaches the bottle's neck. Remove from the freezer when it's time to serve the vodka: Cut away the milk carton with a utility knife; wrap a dinner napkin around the
bottle's base, and serve the vodka with slices of lemon zest tied in knots.Serving drinks and food on ice can be a wonderful way to keep your food and beverages cool and decorate at the same time. A bucket full of ice and a sampling of favorites are sure to be a big hit!
Make your own Popsicles out of your favorite flavors of kool aid. Just buy inexpensive plastic popsicle makers from your local grocery store and add a layer at a time once frozen keep adding until your desired height is achieved!
Freeze milk jugs and other containers filled with water to create larger pieces of ice to work with that would be great for a cook out or barbacue. stacking around trays , food, or drinks for a cooler and more appealing table. Make sure to use garbage bags or set where the ice can drain without ruining your buffet.

Littlest Pet Shop Birthday!

Saturday morning a friend of mine gave her daughter a birthday party in the park. It was one of the best birthday parties ever! Not too long, not too short...just right.
I love birthday parties...especially well thought out, planned, and executed ones! The kind I can never seem to manage. Other peoples parties in particular, ones that I just help with!
A birthday is a magical day as a child. Anticipation for that one day of the year this is totally your own. Anything can happen and everything usually goes your way....the universe balancing the world in your favor on your own very special day!
Watching the children anxiously awaiting the next game or craft was such a blessing. They began with face painting...kitties, puppies, and even a monkey. Next they got to decorate bags with stickers, markers, colored pencils, and sticky foam letters!
Then it was time for the puppy chow down! This was the most exciting game as they were eating like puppies, on their knees, hands down...faces in bowl! Children always energize me! They have a way of showing you the world from a fresh pair of eyes...they teach us as much as we teach them. God gave us such a blessing with children, one that returns itself over and over!
I can't wait for the next birthday party!
